Do humans have a natural advantage over AI?
Also, two QUICK polls we need you to chime in on!
Hey, ProWriter!
Before we get down to brass tacks this week, we want to direct everyone’s attention to the #ProWriter Tips section below.
Last week, we shared a couple of polls to get your feedback on an upcoming asset we’re creating tentatively called A freelance writer’s guide to surviving the AI apocalypse.
We got a great response, but we still want to collect more data. With that, please visit the section below and answer our two polls (it’ll take exactly 2 seconds, or your money back).
All done? Good.

Johnny Utah is pleased.
Here’s a preview of the rest of this week’s issue:
Smart guy watching AI says this is a human’s biggest advantage 🤖
A content guru who will help you up your SEO game 📊
Got a client horror story? Here’s where to tell it. 🫂
See you next week (and for the love of all that is holy, answer the polls below)!

ProWriter is in the early stages of creating A freelance writer’s guide to surviving the AI apocalypse.
TL;DR, we envision an asset that helps writers compete in the AI era. It’ll include the skills you need to learn, tips to help AI-proof your business, and advice on implementing AI into your workflow (it can’t all be bad, right?).
But we want your feedback! So please, answer the following polls by clicking on your selection.

Eye on AI 🤖

In this section, we bring you the top stories about AI that affect the creator economy (so you can stay a step ahead of the machine overlords).
Today’s robopocalypse headlines 🤖💀
A LinkedIn/Ipsos survey of the B2B tech industry found that nearly half (48%) of tech firms are actively leveraging AI for content creation, campaign innovation and other productivity efficiencies.
Still thought leadership content reigns supreme, with 34% or customer engagements deriving from employee engagement in the content ecosystem as well as influencer marketing. It’s difficult to parse how much of that is AI-influenced, but our instincts have always pointed to human involvement being the difference-maker in thought leadership and influencer content.
On that note, investment banker Blair Effron recently told Bloomberg that while AI threatens several STEM occupations, humans will retain some key edges on the robots: empathy, creative skills, and good judgment.
100 content people you should be following 🤝

We made a big list of the most influential voices in the creator economy. Every week, we showcase a new thought leader you should be following.
#85 Rebekah Edwards
Rebekah is the co-founder and CEO of the agency Clara, which provides inbound SEO content for B2C brands in competitive verticals.
Why you should follow her
Rebekah has a niche focus in the content landscape: SEO. Look to her if you want to understand SEO strategy in the context of written content.
She also focuses on in-demand industries (health and wellness, e-commerce, and thought leadership), niches that a lot of writers work in.
This combo makes her an especially good follow for writers toward the beginning of their careers. Once you’ve learned the ropes, you’ll be expected to grok the basics of SEO, and start to explore your niches.
Follow Rebekah, and she’ll take you to the next level.

Dusten here!
This week, I’m turning over this section to the conversion copywriter Anjeanette Carter.
I spotted a post of hers on LinkedIn about nightmare clients, and frankly, I have no notes.
This is a HUGE topic for writers (really, anyone who has clients) so take a look (click the image below to read the full post on LinkedIn) and chime in!
